The Philadelphia Flyers are a good team with a young and talented core, and they seem to have their best days ahead of them. But the Pittsburgh Penguins are a better team with a younger and more talented core, and their best days are here and now (and probably ahead of them too).

As usual, the Stanley Cup Finals have arrived with about as much celebration as the “Best Sound Mixing” award at the Oscars. Such is expected from NHL fans. But for those who do care, the NHL has something special. For the first time since 1983 and 1984, the same two teams are meeting in the finals back to back years.

As a hockey fan (and not particularly a basketball fan), this may be blasphemous to say. But the NBA playoffs have been more interesting to me than the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
